The best part though? You get to experience these things on a deeply diverse map, spanning a multitude of distinct biomes and unique, intuitively designed dungeons while plundering countless unique pieces of gear. Countless armor sets with tailored buffs for various playstyles, the class system and bonuses you'll grow into, the massively overhauled Lycanthropy and "Shouts" systems ("Talents" in Enderal) I'm sure the list goes on. Enderal is an exceptional RPG that massively expands upon it's distant-ancestral predecessor's combat in ways that are difficult to summarize. But past that rabbit hole we'll save for another time is something nothing short of amazing. The irony in all this is Enderal's greatest flaws are because of the confines of Bethesda's archaic engine it's forced to exist within, all of which I'm sure you can guess. Enderal is nothing short of a superb, massive, AAA-quality RPG- and it's one of the best to come out in years. It's not fair to massively discount it to such a degree. But Enderal isn't just "a better Skyrim" or a Skyrim mod. Mechanics are widely improved and multiple are introduced, and you're forced to actually use them in this, at times, brutally difficult, insanely rewarding RPG. Better exploration, environments, dungeon design- the list goes on. Simply put, Enderal: Forgotten Stories is a massively better Skyrim. At an immense attempt to not remain completely speechless, that's the best I can muster for an intro. The first time I entered The Whisperwoods is a moment I will never forget.ġ59h PlayedAfter 159 hours, I've finally completed Enderal and it's hard to put my feelings into words. then I might need to bring something which can harm them. What made my experience even better was adding the mod "Enderal Gameplay Overhaul" which basically made the game even harder, which made it so I had to take my time and think through pretty much everything. If you play this game like Skyrim, you will have a hard time because the enemies will be pretty much one-shotting you. The game is unleveled, so you have to follow the main quest and do stuff in the area you are exploring or "brought to" through the main quest. Health regeneration only occurs outside of combat if you eat foot, unlike in Skyrim where food makes you regian 2 or 4 hp so you eat 400 potatoes and live forever. You cannot really spam health potions because you have something called Arcane Fever which gets worse the more you are exposed to magical effects related to healing. This game was made using the Creation Kit which comes with Skyrim, but they've changed so much about how the game plays compared to Skyrim and they all feel like "true to its genre" RPG-elements.
